ABOUT
The Philippine Root Crop Research and Training Center (PhilRootcrops) is a government research, development and training institution for root and tuber crops: cassava, sweetpotato, taro, yam, yambean, arrowroot and other rootcrops. Established on March 21, 1977 through Presidential Decree 1107, PhilRoorcrops is the lead agency of the National Rootcrop RDE responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating research and development/extension programs in support to the root crop industry. It is based at the Visayas State University (VSU), Baybay City, Leyte, the Center for Research Excellence in Agriculture.
